What Is Structured Wiring ?
Think of your wiring like a hose or a pipe that handles water. The TV cable and telephone wire coming to your home is equivalent to a fire hose. Standard TV cable and connectors are like a garden hose. Standard phone wire and connectors are like a squirt gun. The problem is that as TV signals (like HDTV) and telephone services become completely digital, those faster, clearer, and better signals will require a bigger hose or pipe. Proper structured wiring systems keep the wiring inside your home the same speed as the fire hose coming into the house.

Can Structured Wiring Save Me Money ?
Video equipment such as: DVD players, VCRs, and Laser Disk systems, can be shared by using a "digital modulator". DVD Players and VCR's already have a modulator built in (the channel 3-4 switch on your unit - so many times you don't need to add another modulator). Connect a modulator to your DVD player, and to the distributed video cable that goes back to your Central Structured Wiring Panel, and your DVDs can be watched on ANY TV in your house! The same can be done with a closed circuit security camera on your front porch or facing the kid's swing set in your backyard. Thinking of installing DSL Internet or ultra-high-speed Cable Internet? Share that FAST Internet connection with EVERY COMPUTER IN YOUR HOME using your in-house network!

Is Structured Wiring Expensive ?
The truth is a typical structured wiring installation usually costs less than the large screen television that you want to connect up to it. This installation would include distributed data, telephone, video as well as a security and audio rough-in. Each installation is a custom project and a specific quotation is essential.
